PROTECTION OF WOMEN FROM DISCRIMINATION IN THE LABOUR SPHERE IN RUSSIA AT THE PRESENT STAGE (IN THE CONTEXT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF UN SDG 5)

The article reveals the current situation in the Russian Federation in the field of judicial protection of women from discrimination in the labor field: the percentage of court cases in accordance with the most common types of offenses, the key regulatory grounds according to which such cases are considered by the courts, the nature of court decisions in such cases (refusal / satisfaction). To implement the empirical part of the study, the authors reviewed about 100 cases from 2023 to 2025 within the framework of the practice of regional and district courts of general jurisdiction, as well as, if the cases of interest were redirected to higher authorities, the cassation and appeal courts, the most representative examples of cases for each of the most common types of offenses are given. The article concludes with a number of recommendations on improving the effectiveness of the implementation and protection of women’s rights at work for various stakeholders (government, commercial organizations) and concludes if the quality of judicial protection of women from discrimination at work meets the objective of achieving UN Goal 5 «Ensuring gender equality and empowering all women and girls».
