Abstract: The article through international legal documents discusses the concept of informed consent for medical intervention. The features of this term in the international field and national legislation using the example of Russia are revealed. The problem of doctors overstepping their authority during childbirth under the guise of intervention without the informed consent of the woman in labor in a life-threatening situation is examined.
