PROTECTION OF CHILDREN’S RIGHTS AT THE UNIVERSAL INTERNATIONAL LEVEL: ROLE OF THE COMMITTEE ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD

This article presents the functions and role of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (hereinafter referred to as the CRC) in the system of universal forms of human rights protection; an attempt is made to identify the reasons why children are subject to special protection by the international society. The article provides a brief historical background, presents the legal basis for its activities, and outlines the mechanism for submitting complaints to the CRC. In this article, it is analyzed the decisions of the Committee on the Rights of the Child for the year 2024 based on reports of violations of children’s rights in different countries.
